Bluetooth not found or shows "not connected"
Steps to take when the Bluetooth device can't be found or shows as not connected.
If you can't find the Bluetooth device or it shows as not connected, try the following steps:
- Make sure Bluetooth is on: confirm Bluetooth is enabled in your phone's system settings and the device is discoverable.
- Move closer to the device: keep the Bluetooth device near your phone, within an effective range (usually a few meters).
- Restart Bluetooth: turn Bluetooth off, wait a few seconds, turn it back on, then search again.
- Pair again: "forget" the paired device in the system Bluetooth settings, then search and pair again.
- Check permissions:
- In your phone settings, confirm that Bluetooth scan and connect permissions are granted.
- Android also requires location services to be on and the app to have location permission (used only for BLE scanning).
- Make sure the device is on and not connected to another device: the Bluetooth device must be powered on and not occupied by another phone or device.
- Try restarting your phone: a restart can sometimes fix Bluetooth search problems.
If it still can't be found
Check whether the device is working properly, or try searching from another phone to confirm the device is discoverable.
